This may sound like the greatest opportunity there is, but truth be told, some people can be very nasty when it comes to finally meeting someone they have been chatting to for some time. There are different kinds of dating sites, like for certain age groups, sexualities, nationalities and religions. If you would prefer to only talk to people with certain religious backgrounds or of the same nationality as you, you can then seek one of these dating websites. Otherwise, the other websites just let anyone and everyone mix and have a lot of fun chatting together. So it is all up to you which site to use.

When joining one of these websites for the first time, it is important that you remember a few things for safety reasons, for example; never give out any of your personal information. You will be surprised at how much someone can find out about you by just knowing your name and the city in which you live. The internet is powerful; don't underestimate its abilities and don't think "it won't happen to me". If your information lands up in the wrong hands, you never know what you may be in store for. Even if you and this person have been in contact for a few months and you think you know everything about him or her, do not agree to go to their house or allow them to come to yours.

If you are 100% sure that you would like to meet this person after months of communicating with them online, make a time and date to meet in a restaurant you know will be busy. Even meeting in parks, streets, or on stations can be dangerous. Make sure there are going to be lots of other people around when you finally decide to meet this person.
